Job Accounts Receivable Officer, Milton

Your Opportunity

You will be joining a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation on an initial three-month temporary contract, with a likely extension to support two system implementations. You'll be part of a high-functioning finance team of six, supported by highly experienced leadership.

You will be responsible for managing the company's accounts receivable processes ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, reconciling bank accounts, and monitoring collections from clients.

This role requires you to have excellent experience with reconciliations. In addition, you will have strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external clients. You will play a key role in maintaining a healthy cash flow for the business.

You will also be responsible for accurately processing vendor invoices, verifying billing information, and maintaining financial records in support of the company's accounts receivable function. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily bank reconciliations (approximately 40-100 per day), ensuring all receipts, payments and adjustments are accurately recorded.
• Reconcile customer accounts, identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
• Process and allocate incoming payments to the correct accounts and invoices.
• Prepare and issue customer statements, invoices and credit notes as required.
• Monitor outstanding debts and follow up on overdue accounts in line with company policy.
• Liaise with internal teams (Finance, Sales and Operations) to resolve payment and reconciliation queries.
• Support the month-end closing process by providing accurate reconciliations and accounts receivable reports.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts receivable transactions.

Experience Required

• Minimum of 2 years Accounts Receivable experience with a strong focus on bank reconciliations
• High level of attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level including pivot tables and V look ups).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
